Privacy Policy

NotedWP is a WordPress plugin. All feedback data (pins, comments, threads) is stored in your WordPress database on your server. We don't operate external servers that collect or store your feedback data. The only exceptions are when you explicitly choose to export data to a third-party integration, or when your license key communicates with our licensing endpoint.

Feedback data (pins, comments, annotations) - Stored entirely in your WordPress database. Never transmitted to our servers.

License validation - When you activate a Pro or Agency license, the plugin sends your license key, site URL, and WordPress version to our licensing endpoint to verify activation. This is a standard license check, not telemetry.

Update checks - The plugin periodically checks our update server for new versions. This transmits your site URL and current plugin version. No feedback data is included.

No analytics or tracking - NotedWP does not include any analytics scripts, telemetry, usage tracking, or phone-home functionality beyond license validation and update checks.

When a client or guest uses a NotedWP feedback link, the following is stored in your WordPress database:

- Display name (entered by the guest)
- Comments and pin positions
- Browser and viewport metadata (used for element positioning)

Guest reviewers are not required to create an account or provide an email address. No cookies are set beyond a session identifier used to associate pins with a reviewer session.

When you use an export integration (Trello, Asana, Slack, GitHub, Linear, Jira, Monday.com, or Webhook), NotedWP sends the selected pin and comment data to that third-party service. This action is always manual and on-demand - nothing is sent automatically.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. NotedWP does not control how those services handle your data after export. We recommend reviewing their policies before connecting.

Payments for Pro and Agency licenses are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC). We do not store credit card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials on our servers or in your WordPress database.

Lemon Squeezy handles all payment processing, invoicing, tax calculation, and subscription management. Their privacy policy is available at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

What Lemon Squeezy collects on our behalf: your name, email address, billing address, and payment method. This data is used solely for license fulfillment and billing.

Feedback data - Lives in your WordPress database for as long as you keep it. Deleting the plugin data or uninstalling NotedWP removes all feedback data from your database. We have no copy of it.

License records - We retain license activation records (license key, site URL, activation date) for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after expiry for reactivation support.

Payment records - Retained by Lemon Squeezy per their data retention policy and applicable tax law requirements.

Because feedback data is stored in your WordPress database, you have full control over it at all times. You can view, export, modify, or delete any feedback data directly from your WordPress admin.

For license and billing data held by Lemon Squeezy, you can manage your account at notedwp.lemonsqueezy.com/billing or contact us to request data deletion.

NotedWP is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the plugin, contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. For material changes, we will notify active license holders by email.
