Before you install
Make sure your site meets these minimum requirements:
- WordPress 6.0 or higher
- PHP 8.0 or higher
You can check both from your WordPress dashboard under Tools > Site Health > Info.
Install from WordPress.org
This is the fastest way to get started.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New.
- Search for NotedWP in the search bar.
- Find “Noted, Visual Feedback for WordPress” by Mountain Thirteen Media.
- Click Install Now, then click Activate.
That’s it. The plugin is ready to use.
Install via manual upload
If you downloaded the plugin as a .zip file (from WordPress.org or your NotedWP account), you can upload it directly.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New.
- Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.
- Choose the .zip file from your computer and click Install Now.
- Once the upload finishes, click Activate Plugin.
Verify activation
After activation, you should see a new Noted menu item in your WordPress admin sidebar. This is your hub for reviewing pins and configuring settings.
If the menu does not appear, try refreshing the page. If it still does not show, confirm that the plugin is listed as “Active” under Plugins > Installed Plugins.
First-time welcome notice
The first time you visit the Noted menu, you will see a brief welcome notice. It walks you through activating the overlay and placing your first pin. You can dismiss it at any time and return to it later from Noted > Settings.
Upgrading to Pro or Agency
If you start on the Free tier and later purchase a Pro or Agency license, you can enter your license key under Noted > Settings > License. The plugin will validate your key with updates.notedwp.com and unlock the additional features immediately. No reinstall required.
