Settings Reference
The NotedWP settings page lives at Noted > Settings. It is organized into five tabs: License, General, Permissions, Notifications, and Data.
License Tab
This tab handles license key activation and management. For full details, see Activating Your License Key.
General Tab
Overlay Visibility
Controls when the NotedWP overlay appears on the front end. Three options are available.
- Param (default): The overlay loads only when a specific query parameter is present in the URL. This keeps the overlay hidden from regular visitors.
- Always: The overlay loads on every front-end page load for users with the appropriate capability.
- Off: The overlay is completely disabled on the front end.
Brand Color
A hex color picker that sets the accent color used for pins, buttons, and highlights throughout the overlay. Enter any valid hex value or use the color picker.
Toolbar Position
Choose where the toolbar sits in the browser window.
- Bottom (default): The toolbar anchors to the bottom edge.
- Top: The toolbar anchors to the top edge.
White-Label Mode (Agency)
Available on the Agency tier. When enabled, all NotedWP branding is removed from the overlay and admin screens. This is useful when presenting the tool to your own clients under your brand.
Custom Logo (Agency)
Available on the Agency tier. Upload an image that replaces the NotedWP wordmark in the overlay toolbar. Works in combination with White-Label Mode for a fully branded experience.
Permissions Tab
A role-based checkbox matrix that maps WordPress roles to NotedWP capabilities. Four capabilities are available: Manage Reviews, View Reviews, Resolve Pins, and Export Reviews. See Managing Users and Permissions for a full breakdown of each capability and the default assignments.
Notifications Tab
Enable/Disable
A master toggle that turns the entire notification system on or off.
Event Toggles
Three checkboxes let you choose which events trigger a notification.
- New Pin Created: Fires when a reviewer places a new pin.
- Reply Added: Fires when someone adds a reply to an existing pin.
- Pin Resolved: Fires when a pin’s status changes to resolved.
Delivery Mode
Two options control how emails are sent.
- Immediate: An email is sent as soon as the event occurs.
- Daily Digest: All events from the day are batched into a single email, sent at the configured time.
Digest Time
When Daily Digest mode is active, this field sets the time of day (in the site’s timezone) when the digest email is sent.
Default Email
The email address that receives notifications when no custom email is configured.
For more details, see Notification Settings.
Data Tab
Table Row Counts
Displays the number of rows in each NotedWP database table. This helps you understand how much data the plugin is storing.
Delete All Data
A destructive action that removes every NotedWP record from the database, including pins, replies, exports, and settings. You must type a confirmation phrase before the button becomes active. Use this only if you want a complete reset.
